Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the installation, repair and/or maintenance of equipment, machinery and building for the Production, R&D, and Facilities departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Furnace profiling and calibration
  • Furnace rebuilds and repairs (mechanical and electrical)
  • Furnace troubleshooting and recommendations for improvements to furnace design and calibration processes
  • Enter data, equipment history, and calibration specifications, etc., into a Database program
  • Providing assistance to colleagues in support of all maintenance activities, which could include:
    • Electrical/electronic devices and systems
    • Mechanical equipment and systems
    • Construction activities
    • Preventative maintenance activities
    • General housekeeping duties, monitoring and maintenance of building systems
    • Source materials, components, and parts for equipment and machinery repair
    • Shift work on a fixed or rotating basis
    • Overtime or call outs as required
    • This job requires exerting greater than 50 lb of force occasionally, and/or 10-50 lbs of force frequently



  • Hands on Mechanical experience (building machines, instruments, etc.)
  • Hands on, works well in a team environment and with non-routine tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize/report unforeseen deviations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage many tasks and be reactive as task priorities change

Ideal, but not required, additional assets:

  • Electrical knowledge (basic wiring, testing, problem solving, etc.)
  • Mechanical design experience (building new calibration tools, calibrating them, etc.)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Relevant Technical Diploma, or equivalent work experience.
