Materials Coordinator- Afternoon Shift

Job description:

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the smooth flow of production-related and materials for the research effort in and out of the company. Specifically including incoming inspection, stocking & issuing of materials as well as collecting, packaging and documenting finished goods for shipment.

An additional function is the co-development and maintenance of the production database and support of the ERP. Generating standard/scheduled materials reports from the systems for various users will also be expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Receiving / Incoming Insp / Materials

  • submit incoming paperwork for processing
  • open, inspect and stock materials
  • stockroom organization
  • generate NCRs for off-spec materials
  • update inventory logs and/or item cards
  • review/revise stock levels and re-order points
  • issue materials to the shop floor

Shop floor controls

  • open / issue / close work orders (travelers) for scheduled shipments

Packaging

  • package products as per requirements/regulations
  • generate packaging documents/labels
  • prepare packages for shipping
  • update FG inventory logs

 Inbound / Outbound logistics

  • coordinating shipments with Facilities, R&D and Sales
  • preparing shipping / customs documents
  • following up on incoming/outgoing shipments (via tracking #s)
  • reviewing/updating regulatory shipping requirements

Experience:

At least 4 years in a comparable work environment.

 Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Background in EPR transactions (work orders, shipments, reporting)
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in MS Word and Excel & databases and spreadsheets to track production data and inventories
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and self-motivation
  • Forklift operator

Education:

High school graduation essential; a college diploma is an asset.

Requirements
