Urgent Care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

EmergeOrtho is seeking an experienced, friendly, and motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for one of our ten Urgent Care Center locations. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, with guidance and support of the supervising physicians, will provide efficient, affordable, and prompt patient care.


After onboarding and training, EmergeOrtho allows providers to use the full extent of their licensure.  EmergeOrtho’s well-established program, training protocols, and physician management support the provider’s independent medical judgment in a fast paced Urgent Care setting

  • Assess patients’ conditions through history and physical examination.
  • Order any appropriate diagnostic studies to determine initial treatment.   
  • Documents patient care services, ensuring accurate and complete recordkeeping.
  • Accurately educate patients regarding their conditions and instruct patients in terms of preventative care.   
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as routine incision and drainage, suturing of simple lacerations, reduction of simple fractures/dislocations, application or removal of casts, splints, braces, wound care and debridement, aspiration and injection of joints and local and regional anesthetic blocks.
  • Reading and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory reports.
  • Ordering and prescribing medication, as needed.
  • Initiation of life-saving measures, as needed.
  • Maintain all professional license, mandatory certifications, OSHA, HIPAA compliance.


  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
  • Must have a valid state of North Carolina PA or NP license.
  • Previous experience in an Orthopaedic outpatient setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple task and demands.
  • Ability to maintain composure when confronted with stressful situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, providers and patients.
