Police Officer

Patrol the City deterring criminal activity 

Respond to calls for service from the public 

Conduct initial investigations of crimes against persons and property 

Identify and apprehension of criminals 

Enforce appropriate City Ordinance, State, and Federal laws 

Follow all City and Department policies and procedures 

Attend court when required to give testimony on behalf of the State or City 

Prepare reports of assignments and related work as needed 

Performs all other duties as assigned

Maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances. Provide assistance to the public. May perform a combination of the following duties: patrol; direct traffic; issue traffic summonses; investigate accidents; investigate crime scenes; apprehend and arrest suspects, or serve legal processes of courts. Protect life and property while preserving the peace. 

Testing scheduled for Friday, April 6th and Saturday, April 7th (only attend one)

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred

TCOLE peace officer certificate: Required



No prior experience necessary


Certifications &

TCOLE peace officer certificate
Valid Texas Class C driver's license 



Other Requirements:

Must be able to work rotating shift - nights, weekends, holidays

Must be able to pass screening requirements including but not limited to: written evaluation, physical agility test, background investigation, drug screening, physical examination, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, oral board, and interview with the Police Chief

Must maintain license - TCOLE (TAC Title 37)
