Streets Maintenance Worker 2 or 1

 

• 

Performs installation, repairs, and maintenance of streets, alleys, and drainage ditches. 

Performs pothole, crack sealing, curb replacement, and laying hot mix asphalt. 

Performs installation of traffic control devices, including painting crosswalks, installing street markers and street signs 

Operate in a safe and efficient manner light and heavy equipment that may be used by the department. 

Operate in a safe and efficient manner power and hand tools that may be used by the department 

Performs daily work orders as assigned 

Performs all other duties as assigned

Description

The Streets Maintenance Worker 2 performs maintenance to the City's street infrastructure in an efficient manner that keeps the City's street system safe for the public. An individual in this position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to the City street infrastructure system.

The Streets Maintenance Worker 2 pay starts at $14.08/hr

 

A Streets Maintenance Worker 1 may be considered for this position. The Streets Maintenance Worker 1 will assist in maintaining the City's street infrastructure in an efficient manner that keeps the City's street system safe for the public. An individual in this position will perform a variety of maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to the City street infrastructure system.

The Streets Maintenance Worker 1 pay starts at $13.24/hr

Requirements

 

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience:

1 plus years of experience in construction/operation/maintenance of street/drainage or capital improvement planning programs

Certifications &
Licenses:

Must have valid Texas Class C driver's license
Must be able to read and write in English
Must be able to pass drug screening, background check, and physical exam

Employee must obtain flagger and traffic control certificate within six (6) months of employment. Employee must obtain backhoe certificate and Texas Class B driver's license within one (1) year of employment.

Satisfactorily operate riding mower, shredder, and tractor

Must be able to read and write in English
Must be able to pass drug screening, background check, and physical exam

Employee will be required to obtain a flagger and work zone certificate within one (1) year of employment
Must satisfactorily operate the riding mower
