Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for implementing and monitoring the following: Early Childhood Development and Health Services, Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE), Program Design and Management, and ERSEA plans.
  2. Maintain accurate recruitment, enrollment, referral tracking records, parent roster, class lists, change of status, in-kind records, children’s files and any other documentation required by each program in the areas of Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE), Program Design and Management, Early Childhood Development and Health Services.
  3. Conduct home visits as required for all families as assigned; visit families in the home to ensure on-going contact with the family; complete required documentation; conduct as needed home visits for attendance, medical, or social service needs.
  4. Coordinate services using community resources; provide transportation and/or accompany families to community resources; provide follow-up services within 30 days of the recognized need of the family; advocate for early childhood and family development programs and services within the community.
  5. Ensure parent involvement activities are carried out at all program levels; assist Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Specialist and Coordinator with staff training in parent involvement areas.
  6. Plan, organize, and conduct required parent training, parenting sessions and assigned Parent Committee meetings; assist Parent Committee(s) with election and provide training of officers and Policy Council Representatives.
  7. Participate in the PFCE process to assist family needs and interventions; develop and complete follow up on the Family Partnership Agreement with families; confer regularly with center staff to assure follow through on identified families needs.
  8. Assist parents with arranging any needed medical or dental exams and immunizations.
  9. Obtain informed signed parental consent and release of information for all health and dental services provided to children by the program or other service providers; encourage parent participation and inform parents in writing of the results of completed health services.
  10. Provide direct health services to children such as weighing and measuring and follow up on health related referrals within each program’s timeframe.
  11. Assist families in such matters as regular attendance, medical and dental services, and other program information.
  12. Enter and retrieve information for families into the computerized tracking system.
  13. Collate information for health packets, kindergarten packets, follow-up letters and prepare for mailing.
  14. Assist with Family Orientation at assigned centers.
  15. Recruit volunteers as needed; tabulate, track, report and submit volunteer and Inkind documentation.
  16. Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

 

Requirements

Education:

Required Associate Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or related field.

  Experience:

 One to three years experience in social services or adult education; up to one year experience with word processing, spreadsheet, internet, and database software.

 Additional Requirements:

  1. Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record.
  2. Must have insured, dependable transportation available for daily use.
  3. Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
  4. Initial and periodic physical exams required.
  5. Must submit to state and/or federal criminal checks.
