This Part-Time, Paid, Summer Intern will assist the office in planning, implementation and analysis of projects in the Stewardship and Development Office. Specific goals and objectives will be communicated to the intern at the beginning of their employment.

POSITION TITLE:

REPORTS TO:

Director, SDO

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with the supervisor to determine the scope and time table for the projects they are assigned
  • Develop a project plan and communicate to the supervisor; receive and respond to feedback on the project
  • Actively work with the staff to plan and implement the project
  • Keep a log of work performed and provide regular progress updates to supervisor
  • Prepare press releases and communicate with media to obtain quality coverage
  • Research and copywriting for marketing and promotion materials: brochures, program booklets, information documents
  • Assist with all aspects of event management: planning, marketing, pre-event implementation, day-of responsibilities
  • Support program directors to implement major activities with particular focus on communication and marketing strategies

    • Estate Planning Program
    • Omaha Archdiocesan Educational and Parish Foundations
    • Stewardship and Development Education and Network Series
    • Archbishop’s Committee for Development
    • Support to archdiocesan parishes and schools
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Effectively conveys and receives ideas through writing and speaking; explains thoughts coherently and asks questions when clarification is needed.
  • Strong knowledge related to the field of study
  • Manages multiple, simultaneous projects while producing high quality results; schedules and completes tasks according to their priority.
  • Discretion and ability to keep knowledge gained from work in strict confidence
  • Ability to represent the Archdiocese of Omaha in a professional manner
  • Proficient in computer and keyboard skills as well as an ability to learn and effectively use software relevant to job duties (i.e. Microsoft office suite).

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or Area of Study:  Journalism, Marketing, Public relations, Communications
  • Year of Study:  Junior or Senior
